An opportunistic show business promoter sets the career of a female trio of black singers soaring as 1960s Motown music becomes popular with both white and black audiences, necessitating the overweight lead singer's demotion in favor of a more glamorous singer who had previously sung backup.
The Historic Cocoa Village Playhouse joins in mourning the devastating losses from last night's attack in our neighbor city of Orlando. We offer our deepest sympathies, thoughts and prayers to families and victims and everyone affected. Pulse Orlando is more than a gay club, to so many it was a refuge, a safe haven to find acceptance, love and a place in this world. The staff is committed to many great works of service, awareness, and charity for the community to the bright and beautiful LGBT community of Central Florida. Many of our Playhouse family members have been closely touched by this tragic event but so far as we know, all are reported safe and for that we give many thanks. Peace and calm to all those who now must move forward from this.
A donation page has been setup for those who wish to make monetary contributions to help the survivors and families of the victims.
